Surgical & Treatment Payment Terms

These Surgical & Treatment Payment Terms apply to surgical procedures and other treatments performed through Cabo Plastic Surgery.

These terms govern procedure reservations, payments, cancellations, rescheduling, refunds, and certain additional expenses. They are separate from any procedure-specific informed consent, medical authorization, hospital documentation, or other clinical documentation that may be required.

1. Surgical or Treatment Quote

Following your consultation and medical evaluation, Cabo Plastic Surgery may provide you with a personalized written quote for the recommended procedure or treatment.

The quote will identify the procedure or procedures proposed and the applicable medical fees.

Receiving a quote does not reserve a surgical or treatment date. A date is considered reserved only after the required reservation deposit has been received and the date has been confirmed by Cabo Plastic Surgery.

Quote Validity

Surgical and treatment quotes are valid for three (3) months from the date of issuance.

If the required reservation deposit is not received within that period, the quote will expire, and Cabo Plastic Surgery may issue a new quote reflecting current fees and treatment requirements.

Final Quoted Price

The price stated in the patient’s written quote is the final price for the Cabo Plastic Surgery services specifically included in that quote, subject only to the exclusions, additional costs, changes in treatment, and adjustments expressly described in these terms.

Services and expenses not included in the written quote—including hospital and operating-room/facility fees when separately charged—are not included in the final quoted price.

2. Reservation Deposit

To reserve a surgical or treatment date, the following non-refundable reservation deposit is required:

Procedures with quoted medical fees under $5,000 USD: $1,500 USD
Procedures with quoted medical fees of $5,000 USD or more: $3,000 USD

The applicable reservation deposit is determined by the medical fees stated in the patient’s written quote.

The reservation deposit is applied toward the total medical fees for the scheduled procedure and is non-refundable, except when expressly provided otherwise in these terms.

Payment of a reservation deposit reserves the scheduled date but does not obligate Cabo Plastic Surgery or the treating physician to proceed with the procedure if, at any time, proceeding is considered medically inappropriate or unsafe.

3. Price Protection

If the required reservation deposit is received within the three-month validity period of the quote, the quoted Cabo Plastic Surgery medical fees will be honored for a procedure scheduled to take place within nine (9) months of the date the reservation deposit is received, subject to the extraordinary exchange-rate provision below.

If the procedure is scheduled to take place more than nine (9) months after the reservation deposit is received, the medical fees may be reviewed and adjusted to the fees then in effect.

Price protection applies only to the procedures and services included in the original written quote.

Changes to the treatment plan, additional procedures requested or recommended, changes in implants or other applicable medical requirements, and services or expenses not included in the original quote may result in additional charges.

Hospital and operating-room/facility fees are paid separately and are not included in Cabo Plastic Surgery’s medical-fee price protection.

Rescheduling a procedure does not extend the original nine-month price-protection period unless Cabo Plastic Surgery agrees otherwise in writing.

Extraordinary Exchange-Rate Adjustment

The price protection described above assumes that exchange rates remain within a reasonable range during the price-protection period.

If the Banco de México (BANXICO) FIX exchange rate for the U.S. dollar decreases by more than 10% compared with the FIX exchange rate published on the date the reservation deposit is received, Cabo Plastic Surgery reserves the right to adjust the unpaid portion of the quoted medical fees to reflect the portion of the exchange-rate variation exceeding that 10% threshold.

Any such adjustment will be communicated to the patient before final payment is due.

Amounts already paid will not be retroactively adjusted.

4. Rescheduling a Procedure

A patient may request to reschedule a procedure at least 30 days before the scheduled procedure date.

When timely rescheduling is permitted:

The reservation deposit may be transferred one time to a new procedure date.
The rescheduled procedure must take place within six (6) months of the originally scheduled procedure date.
The new date is subject to physician, operating room, facility, and scheduling availability.
Rescheduling does not extend the nine-month price-protection period described above.

If the patient requests to reschedule less than 30 days before the scheduled procedure, the reservation deposit will be forfeited and a new reservation deposit will be required to reserve another procedure date.

Any subsequent request to reschedule after the one permitted rescheduling will require a new reservation deposit.

5. Final Payment

The remaining balance for the scheduled procedure is due during the week of the procedure, according to the payment instructions provided by Cabo Plastic Surgery.

The procedure must be paid in full before it is performed.

Once final payment has been made, cancellation and refund eligibility are governed by the provisions of these terms.

6. Patient Cancellation

The reservation deposit is non-refundable if the patient cancels the procedure, except where these terms expressly provide otherwise.

If the patient cancels or requests to reschedule at least 30 days before the scheduled procedure, the reservation deposit may be transferred to a new procedure date in accordance with Section 4.

If the patient cancels or requests to reschedule less than 30 days before the scheduled procedure, the reservation deposit is forfeited.

Cancellation After Final Payment

After final payment has been made, cancellation is subject to the final-payment cancellation provisions regardless of when the final payment was submitted.

If cancellation occurs within seven (7) days of the scheduled procedure, the stricter late-cancellation provisions described below apply.

Payments made toward the final balance are normally non-refundable in the event of a late cancellation.

However, in extraordinary circumstances, Cabo Plastic Surgery may consider a refund on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the circumstances of the cancellation and any costs or financial commitments already incurred in preparation for the procedure.

If such a refund is approved:

The reservation deposit remains non-refundable and will be forfeited.
Applicable payment-processing, banking, wire-transfer, currency-conversion, or similar transaction fees may be deducted.
Cabo Plastic Surgery may deduct documented, reasonable, and non-refundable costs or financial commitments actually incurred specifically in preparation for the patient’s scheduled procedure.
Any remaining approved refundable amount will generally be processed within thirty (30) business days after the refund has been approved and the refundable amount has been determined.
Approval of a refund in one case does not create an obligation to provide a refund in another case.

When reasonably possible, an approved refund will be returned through the original payment method.

7. Medical or Patient-Safety Cancellation

Patient safety takes priority over maintaining a scheduled procedure date.

Cabo Plastic Surgery or the treating physician may postpone or cancel a procedure if, in the physician’s professional medical judgment, proceeding with treatment or surgery would be medically inappropriate or unsafe.

This may include circumstances identified through the patient’s medical history, physical examination, laboratory or diagnostic testing, medical clearance, anesthesia evaluation, changes in the patient’s health, or other relevant medical or safety considerations.

Medical Condition Not Caused by Patient Noncompliance

If a procedure must be postponed or cancelled because of a medical condition or patient-safety concern that is not the result of the patient’s failure to comply with preoperative requirements, the patient may reschedule the procedure within six (6) months, subject to medical clearance and scheduling availability.

The reservation deposit remains non-refundable and may be applied toward the rescheduled procedure.

If the procedure is not rescheduled, amounts paid to Cabo Plastic Surgery toward the final balance may be refunded, less applicable payment-processing or banking fees and any specifically disclosed, documented, reasonable, and non-refundable costs already incurred in preparation for the procedure.

Any refundable amount will generally be processed within thirty (30) business days after the refundable amount has been determined.

Payments made directly to third-party providers are governed by Section 12.

8. Preoperative Requirements and Patient Noncompliance

Patients are responsible for completing and complying with all preoperative requirements communicated by Cabo Plastic Surgery, the treating physician, anesthesiologist, hospital, or surgical facility.

These requirements may include, as applicable:

Required laboratory testing or diagnostic studies
Medical or specialist clearance
Providing complete and accurate medical information
Following medication instructions
Following fasting instructions
Following instructions regarding smoking, nicotine, alcohol, supplements, recreational drugs, or other substances
Arriving at the required date and time
Complying with other preoperative instructions necessary for the safe performance of the procedure

If a procedure is cancelled, postponed, or cannot be performed because the patient failed to comply with preoperative requirements or instructions that were clearly communicated to the patient:

The reservation deposit will be forfeited and non-refundable.
Cabo Plastic Surgery may retain from any additional amounts paid the documented, reasonable, and non-refundable costs or financial commitments actually incurred specifically in preparation for the patient’s scheduled procedure.
Such costs may include, when applicable, non-refundable airfare, transportation, and lodging expenses for surgical or medical personnel specifically required for the patient’s procedure, as well as other documented non-refundable expenses or commitments directly related to the scheduled procedure.
Any remaining refundable amount will generally be processed within thirty (30) business days after the amount has been determined.
If the patient wishes to reschedule, Cabo Plastic Surgery may require a new reservation deposit, completion of all outstanding medical requirements, and payment of any additional applicable costs before confirming a new procedure date.

This provision applies when the inability to proceed results from patient noncompliance, rather than from an independently arising medical condition or patient-safety concern that was not caused by the patient’s failure to follow preoperative requirements.

9. Travel Arrangements, Delays and Cancellations

Patients are responsible for making and maintaining all travel arrangements necessary to arrive in Los Cabos with sufficient time to complete any required preoperative evaluation, testing, or preparation before their scheduled procedure.

Patients traveling to Los Cabos for surgery must arrive sufficiently in advance of their scheduled procedure to complete all required preoperative evaluations and preparations. Cabo Plastic Surgery will communicate the required arrival date to the patient before travel.

Cabo Plastic Surgery is not responsible for flight cancellations or delays, missed or cancelled connections, transportation disruptions, weather conditions, lost or delayed baggage, passport or immigration issues, or other travel-related circumstances affecting the patient’s ability to arrive as scheduled.

Travel-related circumstances do not alter the cancellation, rescheduling, deposit, or refund provisions contained in these terms.

If a travel disruption prevents the patient from arriving in time for the scheduled procedure, Cabo Plastic Surgery may, when reasonably possible and subject to physician, operating room, facility, and scheduling availability, attempt to accommodate the patient or reschedule the procedure.

Any such accommodation does not create an entitlement to a refund or rescheduling.

Patients are responsible for any additional expenses resulting from travel disruptions, including airfare, accommodations, transportation, meals, additional testing, or other related expenses.

Patients traveling for surgery are strongly encouraged to purchase appropriate travel insurance and, when available, coverage designed for medical travel.

10. What the Quoted Medical Fees Include

Unless otherwise specified in the patient’s written quote, Cabo Plastic Surgery’s quoted medical fees include, as applicable:

Treating surgeon’s professional fee
Surgical assistant
Surgical nurse
Anesthesiologist’s professional fee
Implants, when applicable and included in the treatment plan
One (1) postoperative garment, when applicable
Routine postoperative visits related to the scheduled procedure

The amount stated in the patient’s written quote represents the final price for the Cabo Plastic Surgery services specifically identified as included in that quote, subject to the provisions of these terms.

Hospital and operating-room/facility fees are not included in the quoted medical fees and are paid separately.

11. Additional Costs Not Included

Unless expressly included in the patient’s written quote, the quoted medical fees do not include additional or unexpected expenses that may arise before, during, or after treatment.

These may include, as applicable:

Revision procedures or additional procedures
Unexpected or extended hospitalization
Additional laboratory testing or diagnostic studies
Additional medications
Blood products or transfusion-related expenses
Extended hospital or surgical-facility stays
Additional medical consultations or specialist evaluations
Additional postoperative garments
Treatment of unrelated or pre-existing medical conditions
Other services or expenses not expressly included in the patient’s written quote

The patient is responsible for additional expenses that are medically necessary or requested and are not expressly included in the original written quote.

12. Third-Party Fees and Refunds

Certain services related to a surgical procedure or treatment may be provided and billed separately by hospitals, operating-room or surgical facilities, laboratories, diagnostic centers, outside physicians, specialists, or other independent third-party providers.

Payments made directly to these providers are separate from amounts paid to Cabo Plastic Surgery.

Cabo Plastic Surgery does not control and cannot guarantee the cancellation, rescheduling, credit, or refund policies of independent third-party providers.

If a procedure is cancelled or rescheduled for any reason, including medical or patient-safety reasons, any amounts paid directly to a third-party provider will be subject to that provider’s own terms, cancellation policies, and refund policies.

Cabo Plastic Surgery is not responsible for fees retained by, or amounts that are non-refundable from, an independent third-party provider.

13. Revisions and Additional Procedures

Revision procedures are not included in the original surgical fee unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

The need for a revision, additional treatment, or further surgery will be evaluated individually based on the patient’s clinical circumstances and the treating surgeon’s professional medical judgment.

Patient dissatisfaction alone does not automatically qualify a patient for revision surgery or for waiver or reduction of any fees.

Revision Policy Eligibility Period

A patient may request evaluation under the Cabo Plastic Surgery Revision Policy within twelve (12) months of the original procedure.

A request within this period does not mean that revision surgery must or should be performed within twelve months.

The appropriate timing of any revision will be determined by the treating surgeon based on the patient’s healing, stabilization of the surgical result, medical appropriateness, and patient safety.

If the treating surgeon determines that an aesthetic revision related to the original procedure is appropriate and qualifies under the Cabo Plastic Surgery Revision Policy, the treating surgeon’s professional fee may be waived or reduced.

The patient remains responsible for all other costs associated with the revision, including, as applicable:

Hospital and operating-room/facility fees
Anesthesiologist fees
Surgical assistant fees
Surgical nursing fees
Implants or medical devices
Medications
Laboratory or diagnostic testing
Postoperative garments
Other third-party or additional expenses associated with the revision

The waiver or reduction of the treating surgeon’s professional fee does not constitute a waiver of any other professional, facility, medical, or related fees or expenses associated with the revision.

Any revision is subject to evaluation by the treating surgeon, medical appropriateness, patient safety, and operating-room and facility availability.

Nothing in these terms constitutes a guarantee of a particular surgical or treatment result.

14. Payment Methods, Currency & Transaction Fees

All payments must be made using a payment method accepted by Cabo Plastic Surgery.

Unless otherwise specified in writing, surgical and treatment fees are quoted in U.S. dollars (USD).

When payment is made in Mexican pesos (MXN) for an amount quoted in U.S. dollars, the amount payable in Mexican pesos will be calculated using the Banco de México (BANXICO) FIX exchange rate published for the business day on which Cabo Plastic Surgery issues the applicable payment request.

The Mexican-peso amount communicated in that payment request will apply to that payment.

If payment is not received within the period specified in the payment request, Cabo Plastic Surgery may recalculate the amount using the applicable BANXICO FIX exchange rate when a new payment request is issued.

Patients are responsible for any bank charges, wire-transfer fees, intermediary bank fees, currency-conversion charges, or other fees imposed by their bank or financial institution in connection with payment.

Cabo Plastic Surgery must receive the full amount due, net of any such fees.

Any additional payment-processing fee charged directly by Cabo Plastic Surgery will be disclosed to the patient before payment is made and will only be applied where permitted.

15. Non-Transferability

Surgical or treatment dates, reservation deposits, and other payments are personal to the patient for whom the procedure was scheduled.

They cannot be transferred, assigned, or applied to another person.

16. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Cabo Plastic Surgery

If Cabo Plastic Surgery must reschedule a procedure for reasons unrelated to the patient’s actions, Cabo Plastic Surgery will work with the patient to arrange a mutually acceptable alternative procedure date at no additional reservation charge.

A rescheduling initiated by Cabo Plastic Surgery will not count as the patient’s one permitted rescheduling and will not cause the patient’s reservation deposit to be forfeited.

If Cabo Plastic Surgery cancels the procedure for reasons unrelated to the patient’s actions or medical condition and a mutually acceptable alternative procedure date cannot be arranged, amounts paid directly to Cabo Plastic Surgery for the cancelled procedure, including the reservation deposit, will be refunded.

Any refund due under this provision will generally be processed within thirty (30) business days after the cancellation and refundable amount have been confirmed.

Cabo Plastic Surgery is not responsible under this provision for amounts paid directly to independent third-party providers or for the patient’s travel, lodging, transportation, or other personal expenses.

If the procedure cannot proceed because of a medical or patient-safety concern, Section 7 applies instead.

17. Medical Judgment and Patient Safety

Payment of a reservation deposit, payment of the surgical or treatment balance, or confirmation of a procedure date does not guarantee that the procedure will be performed.

The treating physician retains responsibility for determining whether proceeding with a procedure is medically appropriate and safe.

A procedure may be postponed or cancelled when the treating physician determines that proceeding would create an unacceptable medical or patient-safety concern.

18. Refund Processing

Unless a different provision expressly applies, any refund due or approved under these terms will generally be processed within thirty (30) business days after the refund has been approved and the refundable amount has been determined.

When reasonably possible, refunds will be returned through the original payment method.

Any permitted deductions for payment-processing charges, banking fees, wire-transfer fees, currency-conversion charges, documented non-refundable costs, or other amounts described in these terms may be deducted before the refund is issued.

Processing by the patient’s bank, card issuer, payment provider, or other financial institution after Cabo Plastic Surgery has issued a refund is outside Cabo Plastic Surgery’s control and may affect when funds become available to the patient.

19. Informed Consent

These Surgical & Treatment Payment Terms address financial, scheduling, cancellation, and related administrative matters.

They do not replace the patient’s procedure-specific informed consent or any other medical consent required before treatment.

Before undergoing a surgical procedure or treatment, patients will receive appropriate information regarding the proposed procedure, expected benefits, alternatives, material risks, potential complications, and other matters relevant to informed consent.

20. Privacy

Personal and medical information provided in connection with a consultation, treatment, or surgical procedure will be handled in accordance with the Cabo Plastic Surgery Privacy Policy and applicable privacy requirements.

Medical photographs and other sensitive personal information may be subject to additional consent and privacy requirements.

21. Acceptance of These Terms

Patients will be provided with access to these Surgical & Treatment Payment Terms before making the reservation deposit.

By paying the reservation deposit, the patient acknowledges that they have reviewed and accepted these Surgical & Treatment Payment Terms, including the non-refundable reservation deposit, cancellation, rescheduling, payment, patient-noncompliance, and refund provisions.
